The training wheels are off. No family at the house to help, it's just us and Kennedy...Sheesh...who knew that having a baby could cut into your sleep like this?
Tuesday, Jen's parents left. Jen's mother had been here since KK was born helping out (thanks Mom, I'm not sure what we would have done without you here). That was an emotional day. On top of it, ever since we were in the hospital KK has had a tough time learning to latch and breastfeed, she had made some strides on a shield but Jen was feeling a bit defeated that we hadn't made more progress. We decided to try again and sure enough she latched and ate completely without assistance for the first time. I felt like God was reminding us that He's with us and will never give us something we can't bear.
Deuteronomy 31:8 says, "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Amen.
You are both doing an amazing job caring for that beautiful little girl. You are both a wonderful blessing to your families. Kennedy will be forever grateful to God for choosing you as her mommy and daddy!
